All About Me
Catherine Pisano-Picard is a well-known dancer, her roots starting in the local bars and honky tonks of Houston, Texas. Her competition history includes Country Western, Ballroom and West Coast Swing. She is a coach and judge on both the ACDA and UCWDC circuits. She is a Country Superstar and Masters level dancer, holding 12 UCWDC World Championship and ACDA National Championship titles combined. Catherine also competed in American Smooth and Rhythm for several seasons of her career. Catherine serves as the first female President of the American Country Dance Association as well as the first President to sanction Open Role divisions on any country dance circuit.
She is also one of the event directors for the event Waltz Across Texas in Houston, TX on the ACDA circuit and an independent ballroom event, Heart of TX. Catherine maintains a large competitive team of both men and women, where she trades off leading and following, often back-to-back. When Catherine isn’t on the floor dancing herself, she’s usually coaching other couples, pros and amateurs alike, at competitions and at the studio owned by her and her husband, Brian Picard, Gravity Ballroom, in Norman, OK.
Off the dance floor and out of the studio Catherine practices as a Clinical Pharmacist, specializing in pediatrics. In her free time, Catherine and her husband Brian enjoy hunting, fishing, running, and spending time with their dogs, Due Passi, Dino, and Torro.
